I believe, near the end of DD1, Asura god gave the inheritance to Tangshan by attaching it to xiaowu just so it wouldn't disrupt the seagod inheritance.

Actually the chronology of the events is a bit all over the place. It’s rather confusing to be honest.

Towards the end of DD,TS already inherited the SeaGod power but Asura God refused to give in to Sea God because he actually selected TS first (TS received his DeathGod Domain before he got hold of the Vast Sea Cosmic Shroud). It was hinted from the conversation between the Sea God and the Asura God that the latter will bring this matter up at the Divine Realm Council. So I presume, Asura God really had the permission from the Divine Realm to give TS a second god inheritance.

I guess from this perspective, the Asura God is definitely a force to be reckoned with. He was hell bent on giving TS the inheritance no matter what. It’s just the involvement of XW made everything much more confusing even illogical because what if TS was killed by Bibidong before XW could get to him? Then the function of XW as the scabbard would become obsolete. That’s why I was so let down by the novel, it started off really well and it just went downhill after the climax.

Correct, the novel should have just been fine with soul rings and soul bones but TJSS has to throw gods and divine weapons into the novel thus making everything else invalid, you have a clear skyhammer? Well that's shit now... We got the seagod trident. Just you wait till you get to DD4 and the mc doesn't even have to hunt for soul rings anymore he just automatically gets them and forget soul power... They running bloodlines power now.

I’ve read all the DD sequels and although I’m not a big fan of DD2 (Yuhao in particular), DD4 is hands down the worst. Don’t even get me started on the ecological spaceship, mechas and what not.🙄 It’s an abomination of all sci-fi novels. I only forced myself to sit through it for Wulin. He’s the second character that I like after TS. But even that was too much. First, TJSS desecrated TS just to uplift Yuhao then he did the same to Wulin. Poor Wulin is nothing compared to his son.

In DD4, TJSS literally wrote himself into a corner when he made Xuanyu so fking powerful. He can’t backtrack so he can only kill his core character TS — the very character that made him famous — and hoping a restart would do the trick. DD5 is bearable actually. I didn’t have much hope going into it, but I was pleasantly surprised that he still manages to give TS his good old charm and wits. But I won’t recommend it to you though. It’s like DD in a new setting. Same concept just different applications.

Asura god being given to XW is the same is it been given to Tang San They are on the same team, they are betrothed, and they are practically each other's sword. I don't see it as a waste or loss that the sword was given to her. I don't care for XW, I don't hate or like her but I honestly just don't get the hate towards her.

First of all, I don’t understand why the sudden countering. If you say you don’t care for XW yet you seem to be offended by my so-called “hate” based on one simple statement of mine.

It’s very noble of you to think everyone in the same team or partnership should be awarded equally, but I’m a firm believer that everyone should be judged on their own merits. XW has never sat for any of the Asura God trial nor does she even have the DeathGod Domain which is the prerequisite for Asura God inheritance. What transpired in the end of DD was not based on her merits but more like a character shield or plain plot armour for the FL. She was not chosen to be the inheritor of Asura Godhood but mainly as a facilitator or the scabbard. To put it bluntly she’s just a “storage place” for the Asura Sword and its power.

I know she’s quite popular with many female fans due to her selflessness and her sacrificial love for TS but that should not be the reason for awarding her with the same reward as the MC, especially when the MC had to fight tooth and nail in every of his god trial while she just does nothing.

However, I must say that TJSS has done a superb job in reviving her character and giving it some zest so far. Her character in DD5 is a lot better than XW in DD. She’s certainly capable of coming up with her own godhead in that new world and this is where I don’t get why the author still had to give her the Asura God sword.

In almost all the DD sequels, TS deliberately abstains from using the Asura God power because the killing aura is too strong and could influence his mind. Most of the time, he would give XW the SeaGod power instead and he takes the Asura God in any fight because XW’s real power is only a 2nd class god while Asura is a god king. So she would not be able to manifest the true power of Asura God anyway. Besides, TS being a protective husband would never risk any harm to his wife previously but why has it changed all of a sudden?

Another example where I don’t see the justification in XW getting another power boost from a 2nd class god to half-step god king in the divine realm is when every other Shrek Devil had to go through hell in their god trials just like TS but they somehow still remained 2nd class gods throughout the time. Most of all, XW was already dying at that time, TS had to continuously transfer his divine power to keep her alive. She could barely walk. So how did she magically increase her power so drastically?

From a reader’s perspective, I sure don’t see her character development because she doesn’t need to do much and everything is laid out for her. I guess we can only blame the author.

Anyway, I’ve spoken enough about my standing on this matter and my reasons for it. I respect your defence for her and I hope you respect mine. To each their own!

May sound like I was defending her her but I was not, I just don't get (not just from your comment that I misunderstood but from a lot of comments I've seen) why the hate towards her. As I said I neither like nor hate her, she's just another character for me.

The lack of character development of XW as well as usefulness I blame it more on the author and not her. If you mean the current Sea God bumping into Bibi Dong and Qian Renxue it doesnt happen, at least not in the novel, but if you mean Tang San as the Sea God then it will be a massive fight

Though Light can sometimes kill them but mostly because the Vampire's evil force is still awake. If it goes to sleep beforehand, the body of the Vampire will be fine.

I increasingly feel like they should have just given the crew a deserved break and
waited for lockdowns to end, rather than cramming/altering their storyboard for 10min eps. Shit was happening so quick in the fight scenes here that I could barely see wtf was happening--similar to those early tournament eps. But what annoyed me more was TS's constant narration, esp during Ghost Douluo's death. Admittedly it's helpful/necessary when describing new abilities/tactics/etc., but too much and it just kills the suspense and becomes a huge distraction. Idk, I feel like these truncated eps have been a big hit or miss..

That’s what I thought too! Look at Fanren, they never need to narrate, the actions show everything! It’s not just TS but almost in every fight, someone needs to narrate what’s going on. Suddenly it seems as if every Titled Douluo has become a storyteller, it’s already bad enough that they stood there watching idly.

I miss those tournaments days where Shrek just strut their stuffs without any nonsense. The best is when TS starts to smirk, we know he’s got it in the bag!
